Aztec Adventure offers an extensive list of adventure activities, adventure courses and group adventures in Worcestershire. These are on and around our lakes at Upton Warren and Lower Moor, a purpose built Aztec themed 18-hole outdoor adventure golf course and high-rope aerial adventure course at The Lost Valley, Evesham plus a fantastic indoor climbing wall also located at Evesham.

Aztec Adventure was the winner of the 'Small Visitor Attraction of the Year' and the 'Winner of Winner's Award' in the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards 2022/23. We were also voted Highly Commended in the 'Experience of the Year Award'.

We are recruiting for the following casual and/or freelance roles to join our vibrant team: 

 

Site Maintenance Officer

The Site Maintenance Officer will ensure the efficient and effective running of Aztec Adventure Upton Warren. This is a 50-acre site located on a SSSI (a site of special scientific interest) and includes a 20-acre lake, large woodland and grassed areas. All of which are used for delivering the wide range of adventures on offer.

You will go above and beyond to ensure that buildings, equipment and more are maintained to the highest standards. You will be cool headed and calm in a crisis, practically minded and be able to turn your hand to a wide variety of jobs, from decorating, ground and plant maintenance.

The skills you will need

From lawns to hedges and from decorating to repairing, this role will bring out the best in your wide-ranging skills. You'll be practically minded and be able to turn your hand to a wide variety of jobs. You'll know your way around equipment safety and maintenance. You'll understand the requirements of fire safety, chemical handling and equipment storage and care. You'll also need people skills.

Job Responsibilities:

Task examples include:

  • Mowing: both tractor and push mowing

  • Strimming

  • Spraying

  • Hedge trimming

  • Weeding

  • General grounds conditioning

  • Painting

  • Decorating inside and outside

  • Buildings maintenance such as fixing door hinges and locks

  • Boat maintenance

  • Patching the inflatables such as the Aqua Park and SUP’s

  • Keeping buildings and marquees presentable.

Mountain Training Climbing Wall Instructor 

Aztec Adventure are recruiting a highly customer focused qualified Mountain Training Climbing Wall Instructor who will be willing to work Wednesday evenings (16:15 - 20:15) and additional days/weekends on a casual basis at Aztec Adventure Evesham.

They will be inclusive and supportive, with an eye for making people feel at ease in a climbing wall environment. Plus be self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt training methods to meet the needs of different learners.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Have the Mountain Training Climbing Wall Instructor qualification.

The work would be a mixture of taster sessions and progressive classes, mostly working with children.

Desirable:

  • Experience in coaching or leading children or adults in a sport or activity.
  • Experience in a busy climbing wall.

Activity Instructors

We are recruiting experienced and enthusiastic seasonal, casual and freelance activity instructors to join our award-winning friendly team. Applicants should hold at least one National Governing Body Instructional / Coaching qualification in either sailing, canoeing, kayaking, climbing or ropes courses. Awards and experience in further activities will be an advantage including stand up paddleboarding, RLSS OWL and RLSS NPLQ qualifications. 

Seasonal contracts are available on an annualised hours basis, around 800 hours from April to October. Actual and further hours would be negotiable. Further hours may be available working as a lifeguard on our Aztec Aquaglide Aqua Park if you have the RLSS qualifications mentioned above. Casual zero hour contracts are also available.

Qualified RYA Dinghy Sailing Instructors 

You'll work closely with our award-winning friendly team to deliver safe, fun, and engaging dinghy sailing experiences and courses for visitors of all ages including school, college and university groups plus run our children’s and adult courses. We expect our team to go above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience on the water.

Ideally, we're looking for full season RYA dinghy instructors (April-October). We will consider candidates with shorter availability dates, but operationally, those with a combination of the best dates and qualifications will always take preference. 

We're looking for friendly, energetic, and approachable people who can build rapport with ease.

Awards and experience in further activities would be an advantage.

Lifeguards: ideally qualified Open Water Lifeguards (RLSS OWL)

Join our Aztec Adventure team! Working closely with our award-winning friendly team you'll ensure the safe running of our Aztec Aquaglide Aqua Park. We offer a fun and rewarding environment and expect our team to go above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience on the water.

Ideally, we're looking for full season qualified Open Water Lifeguards (those holding the RLSS OWL qualification). We will also consider candidates with the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and/or those with a swimming or lifesaving background.

We're looking for friendly, energetic, and approachable people aged 16 years and above who can build rapport with ease and love working in the outdoors.

Aztec Adventure are able to provide training for the right candidate who holds a RLSS NPLQ or those with a swimming or lifesaving background which would be cost free* (excluding admin and membership fees).

* Please note that a training agreement would be in place should you gain the qualification but not commence employment with us. 

Awards and experience in further activities would be an advantage but not necessary.
